Pixel Art / [WIP] Pogo-Mech. Critique please.

I made a little... whatever it is, and tried to limit my colors a bit.
I first worked from the little one, and then scaled it up. I might try and go a bit bigger.
(It's either a tank, a space ship, or some odd looking pogo-stick... or something else entirely.)
Whatever it is, I'd appreciate feedback.
EDIT: Stupid grammatical errors. I must remember, its is possessive.
EDIT: Progression. (First three are general representations, I didn't actually save them.)

Okay, so for some reason I wanted to do a self portrait, so I tried to do it off of a little hand mirror by my monitor, so no, I don't have a picture just yet, but I think I did the shape pretty well. I'm trying to get down facial structure, etc.
