Greetings!  My name is Alec and I'm excited to collaborate with others on their projects, be they personal or commercial!  I've been creating pixel art for a decade and have a very strong emotional attachment to the style and works that involve it.  I'm working on a personal project as of now as my main gig, and I'm looking for a smaller project to work on for payI'm not an animator by any means, however that does not mean I can't animate..   My work is very character and object oriented, however I am capable of doing tile sets and other background work.

Minus a finite amount of commercial ventures my experience has been limited to personal pixels for recreation.  I have been involved with a few projects:
- "Dungeon Boy" (working title) Overworld tiles, battle backgrounds, monsters
- "Tough Coded" Commissioned to do some miscellaneous assets/concepts, have not been shown off to the public as of yet as far as I know.

A few samples:

I'm very eager to work!  For questions see the contact information below.

Pixel Art / [C+C] miscellaneous pixel practices
« on: January 18, 2015, 07:52:05 pm »
I suppose a general thread for me to post my pixels for critique is allowed, it doesn't seem to be against any rules.  I've recently tried to use my personal art time to push more pixels out and build a little pixel portfolio for myself so I can get started doing some freelance work, so I'll be dumping whatever I come up with in this thread for you all to critique the hell out of!

A few character pixels from yesterday.  Tried something a little bigger than what I usually work at and they turned out better than I was expecting!  I have no plans on animating them any time soon, I've never properly animated anything.

Pixel Art / Roguelike Characters
« on: August 13, 2012, 11:23:30 pm »
Hello Pixelation, I haven't posted here in a long while it seems.  I've recently started to build a pixel portfolio of sorts to show to all of the wonderful people of the
world so that they may have a sample of my work, and what I'm capable of.  I've started making some sprites for a roguelike mockup.  So far I have 4 characters;
Warrior, Wizard, Thief, Necromancer (who is subject to change, I just really didn't want a priest character.)  After I've completed these, I'll probably get to work making a basic dungeon tileset, and then some monster/miscellaneous objects to scatter around the dungeon.  Once I've completed those, I'll move on to the UI biz'.

I'd like to know what improvements to the first two sprites on the left in terms of readability and overall quality.  The last two are obviously incomplete, but critique
for the thief (third from the left) is much appreciated.  Thanks for taking your time to read my post.  :)

Mock-up to follow up when I finish the main sprite, I'd like some critique please!
I'm trying to keep the style a BIT simple, though I'm really iffy about the colors right now...

Opinions are also welcome, as always!

The thread for a vidogame project, my other topic died a miserable death...
:'( Also, I was making to many posts consecutivly, and I only wanted critique on the main sprite.

So, lets try this again, this time with feeling!

Imp

Not much is know about him now, but I do know he is a greedy prankster.

Mite

In many aspects, they are the goombas of the game.

Boomy

The living bomb, it can use it's body temperature to ignite the fuse on the top of its body.

Batt

It's a bat... That rhymes with hat!

Runt

A member of a band of collecters, The Twisted, they are only out to collect anything, and everything of
great value. They all wear 2-colored masks, signifying they are members.

Grass Tileset

A grass tileset. Guess what it's used for.

Thats about it for now, I should be updating daily...

Cheers!

Well, haven't posted here in a while and wanted your guys opinion on a sprite!

To set the record straight, Imp is a character for a game I plan on making, if I can learn some C++!

Comments and Constructive Crtiticism would be highly appreciated!
